Description
A quick, fudgy single-serving chocolate brownie with a creamy peanut butter swirl, made entirely in a mug in just two minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
- Optional: mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a small bowl or directly in a large mug, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until no lumps remain.
- Add the milk, oil (or melted butter), and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Stir vigorously until the batter is smooth, glossy, and thick.
- Pour the batter into a large 12-ounce microwave-safe mug, filling it about halfway to two-thirds full to allow for rising.
- Drop the tablespoon of creamy peanut butter onto the center of the batter. Gently swirl it into the batter with the tip of a spoon to create ribbons; do not mix completely.
- Microwave on high for 90 seconds to 2 minutes. Start with 90 seconds, checking if the top is set but the center is still slightly soft. Add 15-30 seconds if needed, but avoid overcooking.
- Let the brownie cool in the mug for 1-2 minutes before eating to allow it to set and prevent burning.
Notes
Use a large mug to prevent overflow. If your microwave is weaker than 1000 watts, you may need an extra 30 seconds. For a gluten-free version, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend. For a vegan version, use plant-based milk and oil. Do not overcook or the brownie will become rubbery.
