Description
A quick, nutritious, and tasty smoothie packed with protein, perfect for busy mornings. Made with simple ingredients like frozen strawberries, banana, protein powder, and Greek yogurt, it’s creamy, naturally sweet, and refreshing.
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen strawberries (150g)
- 1 medium banana (about 120g), ripe but not mushy
- 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (about 25g)
- ½ cup Greek yogurt (120g), plain or vanilla
- ¾ to 1 cup milk or milk alternative (180-240ml), unsweetened almond milk preferred
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or chia seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Prep your ingredients: gather frozen strawberries, peel the banana, measure protein powder and Greek yogurt, and have flaxseed or honey ready if using.
- Put frozen strawberries, banana, Greek yogurt, and protein powder into the blender. Pour in ¾ cup of your milk of choice.
- Blend on high for about 30 seconds until the fruit breaks down and the mixture looks creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if needed.
- Adjust consistency by adding more milk in small splashes and blending again until desired texture is reached. If too thin, add more frozen strawberries or yogurt.
- Add honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness and toss in flaxseed or chia seeds for a nutritional boost. Blend briefly to mix evenly.
- Pour into your favorite glass or travel cup. Garnish with a strawberry slice or sprinkle of chia seeds if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
Use frozen fruit to keep smoothie cold and thick without watering it down. Start with less liquid and add more to control texture. Ripe banana adds natural sweetness and creaminess. Protein powder is key to staying full longer. For dairy-free version, swap Greek yogurt for silken tofu or coconut yogurt and use plant-based protein powder with almond or oat milk.
