Lemon Pepper Grilled Shrimp Skewers with Garlic Butter

  • Author: Grace
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A quick and easy 15-minute weeknight dinner featuring juicy shrimp seasoned with zesty lemon pepper and grilled with a rich garlic butter sauce. Perfect for busy parents looking for a stress-free, flavorful meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds large shrimp (peeled, deveined, and patted dry)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 810 wooden skewers (soaked in water for 2030 minutes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20-30 minutes.
  2. Place the dried shrimp in a medium bowl. Drizzle with oil and sprinkle with lemon pepper seasoning. Toss to coat evenly.
  3. Thread 4-5 shrimp onto each skewer, placing them in a zigzag pattern (tail to tail) to hold them securely.
  4. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in garlic powder, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Keep warm.
  5. Lightly oil the grill grates. Place skewers on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on the first side until pink and opaque.
  6. Flip skewers carefully. Brush with half of the garlic butter sauce and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the second side.
  7. Brush with remaining sauce. Remove from grill immediately when shrimp are pink, opaque, and slightly charred.
  8. Serve immediately garnished with fresh parsley and lemon wedges.

Notes

Do not overcook the shrimp; they turn rubbery if cooked too long. They are done when pink and opaque. Ensure shrimp are completely dry before seasoning to achieve a good sear. If using frozen shrimp, thaw completely and pat dry. For oven cooking, bake at 400°F for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway.
