Description
Quick, crispy, and keto-friendly chicken wings made in the air fryer with a simple dry rub and optional buffalo sauce. Ready in under 40 minutes with minimal prep and cleanup.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 to 3 pounds chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil or olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted (for sauce)
- 1/2 cup hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 garlic clove, minced
Instructions
- Pat chicken wings dry thoroughly with paper towels to remove surface moisture.
- Place wings in a large bowl and drizzle with oil. Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
- Preheat air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
- Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Cook at 380°F (190°C) for 25 minutes, flipping wings halfway through.
- Check internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C). If needed, cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- While wings cook, melt butter in a small saucepan or microwave. Whisk in hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, and minced garlic.
- Transfer cooked wings to a bowl and toss with the buffalo sauce. Serve immediately.
Notes
Ensure wings are completely dry before seasoning for maximum crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary. Flip wings halfway through cooking. Store leftover wings plain in the fridge and reheat in the air fryer to maintain crispiness.
