Garlic Butter Steak and Shrimp Pasta

  • Author: Grace
  • Total Time: 28 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

A quick and indulgent weeknight meal combining garlic butter steak and shrimp tossed with pasta, ready in under 30 minutes. Perfect for busy evenings when you want something hearty and flavorful without the fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces sirloin or ribeye steak, sliced thin
  • 8 ounces large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 ounces fettuccine or linguine pasta
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped (about 15g)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice steak thin against the grain. Peel and devein shrimp if needed. Mince garlic and chop parsley. Prepare butter and liquids.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain, reserving ½ cup pasta water.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak with salt and pepper and sear 1-2 minutes per side until browned but tender. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add another tablespoon olive oil to the skillet. Cook shrimp 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  5. Lower heat to medium. Add butter to skillet. When melted, add garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir constantly for 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Pour in white wine or broth, scraping browned bits. Simmer 2-3 minutes until slightly reduced.
  7. Add pasta, steak, and shrimp back to skillet. Toss to coat. Add reserved pasta water if sauce is too thick. Stir in lemon juice and parsley. Adjust salt and pepper.
  8. Serve immediately with extra parsley and black pepper.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the pan when searing steak and shrimp to get a good crust. Save pasta water to loosen sauce. Use fresh garlic and real butter for best flavor. Remove from heat before adding lemon juice to prevent sauce breaking. Let steak rest briefly after searing. Reheat leftovers gently with a splash of water or broth. Does not freeze well due to butter sauce separation.
