Description
A quick, nutritious, and kid-approved smoothie blending simple ingredients like bananas, frozen blueberries, and milk into a creamy, delicious breakfast boost perfect for hectic school mornings.
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen blueberries (150g)
- 1 large banana, peeled (about 120g)
- 1 cup milk (240ml) – dairy or plant-based
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (15ml) – optional
- ½ cup Greek yogurt (120g) – optional
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (2.5ml) – optional
Instructions
- Prep your ingredients: grab frozen blueberries, peel banana, and measure milk. Have Greek yogurt and vanilla ready if using. No need to thaw blueberries.
- Add blueberries, banana, milk, honey (if using), Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract to blender. Secure lid.
- Blend starting on low speed, gradually increasing to high until smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes. Add more milk if too thick and blend again.
- Taste and adjust sweetness with more honey or maple syrup if desired. Thin with milk or ice cubes if too thick.
- Serve immediately in glasses or travel cups for best flavor and texture.
Notes
Freeze bananas ahead of time for creamier texture. Use frozen blueberries for thickness without watering down. Customize with spinach, protein powder, or nut butters. Pre-measure ingredients the night before for faster mornings. Store leftovers in airtight container in fridge up to 24 hours; shake before drinking.
